Duna Aréna - Budapest swimming stadium.
In the summer of 2017, the 17th Swimming World Championships were held from 14 - 30 July in Hungary. The venue was the capital city, Budapest. For the occasion of this important sports event, the city had built a new, highly modern swimming stadium.
Completion in record time
In just two years of construction, the building, planned by Dr. Marcell Ferenc and György Détári (office napur architect kft, Budapest), was completed by the spring of 2017. The new swimming stadium seats 13,000 spectators. Inside the building there is a 50m competition pool, a warm-up pool, as well as a diving and teaching swimming pool. All requirements for holding national and international swimming competitions are thus fulfilled.
Changing rooms from professionals by professionals
The Schäfer Trennwandsysteme company was commissioned to build the locker systems and sanitary facilities. The products meet the requirements placed on the interior fittings exactly. The easy-to-clean surfaces of the lockers GVKF13 as well as the sanitary cubicles and shower walls speak for themselves and the robust design ensures a long-lasting service life in these highly frequented premises. The prefabricated benches S20 are comfortable and at the same time serve as storage space when changing and stowing clothing.
Flexible use in wet and dry areas
Thanks to the water-resistant construction, the type VK13 is ideally suited for use in dry and wet areas. For this reason, the shower screens VK13 were selected for the shower areas. In the sanitary rooms, design-oriented VITRUM II sanitary cubicles and sanitary cubicles type EF-3 were used. Both versions, one consisting of safety glass and the other of 36 mm thick sandwich elements, combine longevity, ease of cleaning and an exclusive design.
