Galerie Neustädter Tor, Gießen.
The Galerie Neustädter Tor opened in autumn 2005 in a central location in Gießen. With approx. 32,000 m² of retail space, it is one of the largest shopping centres in Hesse. In 2021, the shopping centre was extensively modernised: for example, the lighting concept was fundamentally redesigned and the shopping centre was given an additional entrance. To enhance the shopping experience for the customer, the modernisation also included the sanitary facilities.
Contactless WC cubicles - door handles were yesterday!
In the newly designed WC rooms, the user experiences a completely new kind of hygiene standard in public toilet area. The Galerie Neustädter Tor decided to install EF-3 ALTUS Look&Wave WC cubicles. These floor-to-ceiling WC partitions offer customers touch-free access to the WC cubicles using innovative technology. Just hold your hand in front of the sensor: the WC door opens/closes automatically. Especially in times of a pandemic, the top priority is to minimise the transmission of germs and the risk of infection. The sanitary room, as a highly frequented place, is of particular importance in this respect. Although touchless flushes, water taps and hand dryers are often already available there, the doors of the WC cubicles often represent a significant gap in the entire hygiene chain. Schäfer has found a remedy for this and developed a pioneering solution with "Look&Wave", which enables the touch-free opening and closing of WC cubicles.
Intelligent sensor technology.
The cubicle door is equipped with state-of-the-art LED sensor technology. With a simple hand movement in front of the sensor, the WC door is locked and unlocked without contact. The built-in, clearly visible LED display offers special user comfort: it signals the occupancy status of the WC cubicle to the visitor from a distance. This optimises visitor guidance, especially in highly frequented sanitary facilities.
In addition, the intelligent Look&Wave sensor detects the number of users and signals - after a predefined number - the need for cleaning the WC cubicle. In the event of a power failure, the doors unlock fully automatically. In addition, a service key is available to open the doors from the outside in an emergency.
Design, comfort and germ prevention combined in one product!
Floor-to-ceiling enclosed WC cubicles create a pleasant atmosphere, especially in public sanitary facilities, due to their exclusive design. The EF-3 ALTUS Look&Wave WC partitions made of 36 mm thick sandwich elements with HPL surface are available in a wide range of décors and colours and are still produced according to customer specifications.
The flush-fitting fronts, together with the LED sensor embedded flush in the surface, make cleaning considerably easier and turn this type of WC system into an easy-to-clean yet highly robust companion for many years to come.
